Today I got an email asking what businesses were involved in giving discounts. It was a valid question. I understand you can't use the card well if you don't know where to use it. The discounts should be listed on the Merchants page in the directory. We are still waiting on some of the Merchants to provide that information.

The thing I would like to relate is that because this is still a new concept, the information is not coming as fast as we hoped. We are working to resolve that. One thing is sure, the more people that sign up for the card, the more deals we will be able to provide. So please bear with us as we work on getting more savings for our Santa Rosa County Shoppers. Casey's Nursery has been working with us well and is a good example of what we are trying to accomplish.

The email mentioned Hall's Hardware. Although Hall's is listed as a merchant they have not yet signed up. We apologize to anyone who has taken their card to Hall's only to find out they are not offering any savings. We have now removed them from the directory. They are a fine merchant and we would love to have them in our network.

Just so you will know. When we started Srosa.com I started with a list of area businesses that I had spent substantial amounts of money with through the years. Hall's was pretty high on that list. All of the businesses on my list chose to help us get started except Hall's. When we first started the shopping Card Directory we assumed they would like to participate. It appears this is not the case after all. We apologize for assuming anything, we should not have.

Cash Flow is Good Too!

Well things are surely hopping! I have been having a devil of a time getting everything flowing smoothly. I am sure there will be few bumps in the road but we will take care of them and it is nothing we can't overcome.

Keywords
I thought I would use this time to suggest few ways that a business can use srosa.com and maximize it's effectiveness. Since we are new, our rankings in the major search engines do better with specific products. For instance, I recently wrote an article about Video Game Swap Shop. I mentioned Mario Bros in the article. I also wrote one about Halls. If you google "Milton Tire Swing" or "Mario Bros Milton" you will see they are at the top of the google ranking.

That is what I want to talk about. When people look for items on the web it is usually because they can't find them easily. If you google "video games" you will get a lot of stores that sell video games. Most searchers looking locally, will add "Milton" and sometimes "Milton Fl." to their search query.

If you are looking for something specific, then you have less competition for the key words. I would encourage all of the merchants that have overstocked items to consider promoting those. If you have unique or hand crafted items, then those would be good also. The more unique the item is desccribed the better it will do.

Creating Cash Flow
When I have specifc items, I can fold those products into a content article and it will place higher in the ranking, that is a win for you and the customer. I heard a wise man say recently "profit is good... but cash flow is good also". This is good to remember. Stock does us no good on the shelf. Why not use the overstocked items and the slow movers to promote your business? You new customers will appreciate the savings and you will appreciate the sales and advertizing.

Slow Days
In addition to niche marketing consider "slow days" to offer discounts. If you are not getting good traffic certain days of the week, that would be an outstanding time to offer discounts using the Srosa.com shopping card. Here again, we are back to "cash flow" being better than "no sales", or as one of my good friend says. "Oatmeal is better than no meal." In these slow and uncertain economic times, shoppers will becorme more resourceful and conscious of the price and quality of goods that they are consuming.

Your Results
Srosa.com is a tool for you to use. How well you use the tool will determine your results. Think of us as a mini marketing firm working for you, while providing benefits for area consumers. Srosa is adding Facebook pages

Srosa.com is adding business pages on Face book for our business members. This is a service we provide for our business members only. In order for us to set you up with a business page you have to request that we do it. Face book requires that we have your permission. You will have your own admin access and can ad whatever content you need.

You will need to use the contact us button on the srosa.com web site to alert us that you would like for us to create your page. We will then create your business page and send you the admin login information. Face book is just one of the tools we will be using to promote area businesses. If you already have a personal face book account. You can do this yourself by selecting add pages. Just go Here for instructions.

Providing marketing tools is just another free service we provide at Srosa.com. We can also set you up with a blog page from google. Help you with a youtube account. List items on ebay and much more. News and Progress

Things have been moving pretty quickly with Srosa.com these past two months. Many new sign ups and more businesses being added every day. Thought I would take some time to update everyone daily on the progress and what comes next.

First... The Cards are here! This is good because we really could not get started offering prizes and discounts without them. Now we have a good supplier and they are ready to print as many as we need. So look for promotions to start coming in March.

Second...We are going to be concentrating on getting more people to sign up as shoppers. It's free and the whole concept of Srosa is that the more shoppers we have signed up. The more discounts we can offer. It is very simple. The more members we have, the more incentives merchants will offer to access that customer base. Please tell everyone to sign up for their free shopping card today.

Third... as we continue to grow there will be changes. We have already identified some problem areas in the web site and are working to resolve those. Mostly the problem is in the layout and functions and search engine optimization. This will be an ongoing evolution. We will try to make it so that it does not inconvenience our customers.

Last... A new feature to be added will be a "classified ads" section so that members can buy and sell for free! No charge! That's free right?

So look for your cards to be coming soon! We are working out the distribution plan now. We want to have as many out as possible before we have out first cash prize membership number winner.
